Assessment Suite

I offer a range of psychological assessments tailored to your needs. All assessments are evidence-based and include a comprehensive report with clear, practical recommendations.

  • A thorough and compassionate process designed to understand neurodevelopmental differences. A comprehensive assessment involves gathering information from lots of different sources and then applying expert analysis to build a clear picture of a person’s functioning. The assessment therefore includes:

    • Written questionnaires where I will gather background information on the presenting concerns, developmental/medical history and strengths

    • Standardised questionnaires that give valuable information about a person’s psychological functioning compared to others their age

    • Clinical interview and observations where we will spend time together to thoroughly explore the presenting concerns and gain invaluable context to the written information previously provided

    • Reports from other people such as family members or teachers

After information gathering, I will analyse and synthesize all the available information to complete the diagnostic evaluation. I will write a comprehensive report with practical recommendations and conduct a feedback session where we will discuss the outcome of the assessment, and any clarifying questions can be answered.

Please note: Most NDIS applications require a multidisciplinary diagnosis for Autism, involving multiple professionals (for example a paediatrician and a psychologist). I’m happy to collaborate with your care team to support this process.

  • A cognitive assessment is a structured way of understanding how a person thinks, solves problems, remembers information, and processes their environment. It provides valuable insight into intellectual strengths and areas that may need support and can assist with identifying giftedness, or intellectual disability.

    The assessment includes:

    • A written intake questionnaire where I will gather background information about development, education, and strengths
    • A clinical interview to explore current concerns and history
    • Administration of a standardised cognitive test, usually the WISC-V (for children) or WAIS-IV (for adults), which measures verbal reasoning, working memory, processing speed, and visual-spatial skills
Reports from others (teachers, employers, or other professionals) if available, to provide additional context

After gathering all this information, I will analyse and interpret the results to create a comprehensive cognitive profile. You will receive a detailed report explaining the findings along with practical, evidence-based recommendations. A feedback session is included to discuss the results and next steps.

  • A non-verbal cognitive assessment is designed for individuals who may not be best assessed using traditional verbal tests. Suitable for people with limited speech, additional language needs, or English as an additional language.

    The assessment process includes:

    • A written intake questionnaire focused on presenting concerns, developmental/medical history and strengths
    • A clinical interview to explore current concerns and history
    • Administration of a standardised cognitive test, such as the UNIT-2 or WNV, which uses hands-on activities and visual problem solving tasks rather than language-based questions
Reports from others (teachers, employers, or other professionals) if available, to provide additional context

This process ensures that cognitive ability is fairly and accurately assessed without relying heavily on verbal language. A detailed, accessible report is provided, along with a feedback session to discuss the findings and implications.

  • Assess cognitive skills and academic achievement to support learning and school success. A psychoeducational assessment goes beyond general thinking skills to explore academic achievement — helping to understand learning strengths, challenges, and how best to support educational success.Ideal for learning difficulties and school support planning.

    This assessment involves:

    • A written intake questionnaire gathering academic history, previous assessments, and school performance
    • A clinical interview to understand the current concerns and history
Cognitive testing using the WISC-V to assess thinking skills
Academic testing using the WIAT-III to measure reading, writing, maths, and oral language skills
Reports from teachers or schools where available

This information is integrated to form a clear profile of both cognitive and academic functioning. The comprehensive report includes clear recommendations for school support, or intervention planning. A feedback session is provided to go through findings together.

  • Understand everyday strengths and support needs for living, learning, and working. A functional capacity assessment focuses on how someone manages daily activities across different areas of life, such as communication, self-care, learning, and social interactions. This type of assessment is particularly valuable for accessing supports through systems like the NDIS.

    This process involves:

    • A written intake questionnaire gathering information about daily living skills and support needs
    • A clinical interview to understand the client’s day-to-day functioning in detail
    • Use of standardised tools like the Vineland-3, which measures adaptive behaviours across communication, socialisation, and self-care
Multi-informant reporting (input from caregivers, teachers, support workers where possible)

The final report synthesises information from all sources to give a clear, strengths-based picture of functional ability, challenges, and supports needed. A feedback session is provided to explain the findings and recommendations.
